Privacy Policy

This website is a Young Engineers class site operated by the Young Engineers licensee responsible for this site (“we”, the “Licensee”). We use it to share information about our classes and to let you register your child for a class. The licensee operating this site, including its name and location, can be identified through the official Young Engineers licensee directory on the Young Engineers headquarters website.

Who controls your information

The Young Engineers licensee responsible for this site decides how the information you enter here is used and is responsible for it (the “data controller”). The website and class-management software are provided by E Square Young Engineers Franchising Ltd (34034 West 8 Mile Road, Suite 102, Farmington Hills, MI 48335, USA, Identification Number 800757868), which processes the information on the Licensee’s behalf (the “processor”). The Licensee can view, manage, and delete the information through the Young Engineers ClassWise system.

Contact about your data

When you register your child for a class, we collect:

• About your child: first and last name, age, and the type of school they attend. A particular site’s form may ask for additional details the Licensee has chosen to include.

• About you (parent or guardian): first and last name, email address, and phone number.

• Payment: if you pay online, the cardholder name and the payment confirmation. Your card number is entered directly with our payment provider — for example Stripe, or another secure payment provider shown on the checkout page — and is never received or stored by us — see Section 5.

We do not collect your child’s date of birth, gender, or home address by default. If a particular site’s registration form has been set up to ask for additional information, only what is shown on that form is collected.

We use the information to process your child’s class registration, contact you about the class, take payment, and manage enrolment. We do not sell your information, and the website does not run advertising or behavioural-tracking tools.

When you submit a registration, the information is:

•stored securely (in encrypted form) in the Young Engineers platform used by the Licensee;

•sent to the Licensee’s customer-management system (Zoho CRM) as a prospective enrolment — the parent’s name, email, and phone, and the child’s name and age; and

•reflected to the Licensee in the ClassWise class-management system, where the Licensee manages and can delete it.

Card details are not included in any of this — they go only to our payment provider.

Online payments are handled by a secure payment provider — for example Stripe, or another secure provider shown on the checkout page. When you pay, your card details are entered directly into the provider’s secure fields and processed by them; we receive only confirmation of the payment and basic details such as the cardholder name and amount. We never receive or store your full card number. The provider processes your payment as described in its own privacy policy.

This website is not designed to use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses what is necessary tofunction (for example, remembering your language and site, and the secure fields provided by our payment provider). Our payment provider (for example Stripe, or another secure provider shown atcheckout) may set its own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud. If a particular licensee’s site has been configured with any additional cookies or tracking, that site’s Cookie Notice will reflectit. See our Cookie Notice for details.

We rely on providers that process information on our behalf: Young Engineers (the platform and ClassWise), Zoho CRM (managing enquiries and enrolments), a secure payment provider such as Stripe (payments), email providers, and content-delivery and mapping services. These providers process the information only as needed to provide their service.

Information may be processed in countries other than your own. A prospective enrolment (lead) isfirst held in the customer-management system (Zoho CRM); once your child becomes an enrolled student, the child’s details are held in the ClassWise system, which runs on Amazon Web Services(AWS). Where required, appropriate safeguards are put in place for such transfers.

The Licensee keeps your child’s information for as long as needed to manage the class relationship and as required by law, and can delete it through ClassWise. Prospective-enrolment (lead) information held in Zoho CRM is also deleted after a period if it does not become an enrolment. You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, or withdraw consent, by contacting the licensee that operates this site (see the official Young Engineers licensee directory on the Young Engineers headquarters website). If you still have trouble identifying or reaching the operator, contact Young Engineers at privacy@youngengineers.org and we will tell you who operates this site. The Licensee will handle your request as the controller of the data.

Registrations are completed by a parent or guardian on a child’s behalf. By registering, you confirm you are the child’s parent or guardian and consent to the collection and use of your child’s information as described here.
